Disaster Recovery Planning

A disaster recovery plan is an assessment or review of your organization’s plan for regaining computer operations in the event a physical or other disaster seriously impairs your ability to carry out normal business operations.  The primary objectives of this plan are the following:

1.         Identify critical components of the system and critical applications on the system.

2.         Preparation for a disaster including: offsite facilities, backup options and procedures, and substitute equipment.

3.         Identification of possible disasters, discuss prevention and recovery procedures.

4.         Discuss, implement, and audit periodic plan testing and plan maintenance procedures.
